Outside of the United States:
- Canadian Cancer Society has
information and resources on Breast Cancer Awareness. They state 407
women in Canada will be diagnosised each week with breast cancer.
- National Breast Cancer Centre. Established in
1995 by the Australian Government, their mission is to reduce morality
and improve the well-being of women diagnosed with breast or ovarian
cancer.
- Breast Cancer Care is the United
Kingdom's leading provider of breast cancer information and support.
Has information about breast self exam.
United States:
- Center for Disease Control and
Prevention - has good information and resources available. They
have a list of places you can call or visit online to find free and/or
low cost mammograms (as well as pap smears).
- Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation is one of several organizations that make it possible
for women without means to obtain a free or discounted mammogram.
Excellent information as well as instructions on performing a breast
self exam.
- The Breast Cancer Site raises
money for women needing mammograms. Sponsors advertising on this site
donate money for mammograms depending on the number of "clicks" made
daily. Lots of good information.
- National Breast Cancer Foundation
is partnered with The Breast Cancer site to provide mammograms and
support to women.
- American Cancer Society Lots of
information on all types of cancer - prevention, detection, treatment
options and support resources.
- Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization has a
24 hour hotline to answer questions, provide support as well as other
support services and educational programs.
- Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer
Center is a leading cancer treatment and research facility in the
US. This portion of their website has excellent information for all
sorts of cancer screening self exams, including a video that is
available free to readers on doing a breast self exam.
