Acting Your Age: A Guide for Women Who Refuse to go Over-the-Hill!

I am VERY interested in this subject. I am 51 years old and until last year I had never thought about my age. My husband is 10 yrs younger than I (we married when I was 38). I feel like I am much younger than my body (which seems to suddenly be betraying me) is representing me.
It came as a mighty shock when I got my passport pictures taken last summer… omg did I ever have to face reality in the face!
Anyway, since then I have been thinking about how I present myself. It is a conflict between what I feel I should aspire to (dignity and maturity and sophistication) vs my tendency to being comical or silly (which worked for me when I was young but which I kept as I grew older).
I want to integrate my character (which is vibrant and fun and a little eccentric) with the reality of my being older, more experienced and wiser. I want to live in my own integrity. I want to be the person I am in all my facets.
Along with the behavior is my new need to take advantage of whatever youth I have left vis a vis my clothing. I am a voluptuous woman with a 51 yr old body and the fashion industry is geared towards young, slim youth. I really don’t feel like wearing boring old lady clothes and I do not want to wear the same styles that the kids wear. I work as a professional and it is important to me to be able to present myself as credible. I would like to find fashion resources (clothing, hair, makeup) geared to my needs and personality.
